1. Newly Human and Strangely Literal

Buffy: It’s too late anyway—I’m already at the ‘I hurt when he hurts, I smile when he smiles’ stage.

    Anya: I hate that part.

I love Anya. She really is my favorite character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Her in her bunny outfit on Halloween is one of my favorite moments. Is it weird if I say I relate to her? Kevin (my lil brother roommate) and I are almost done the 4th season. He keeps telling me how much Anya reminds him of me. I have to say, I don’t dislike it as much as I thought I did. While I don’t give a shit about Adam, Riley or the Initiative—the whole first half of the season is great. And then there’s Tara and then there’s the final episode, Restless, which is my 2nd favorite episode ever (Hush being my 1st). But also, it’s where Anya & Xander’s relationship really starts.

The quote in that gif (source) is even my opening quotation to my manuscript. I really love her. I feel like Anya’s way of bluntly saying how she feels and her not really understanding how to deal with how she feels…are all very much me. I just think the idea of an ex-demon, new human is great. Also, Emma Caufield is perfect (as is nearly everyone else who was ever in Buffy). Anya makes me get choked up and cry (The Body, Chosen, Hells Bells, etc) more than any other character.

Anya:…and…forgiveness makes us human blah di blah blah blah

And here I am writing another post about Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I even went to the Philly Comic Con to meet Emma Caufield. Geez, Ian, get a life.
